A lot of individuals love participating in lawn mower racing events. Most of these tournaments transform a regular law mower into an exciting racing vehicle. But transforming a standard mower is relatively inexpensive compared with creating a racing vehicle from scratch or buying one in the market.

MATERIALS NEEDED IN CREATING A RACING LAWN MOWER

The materials needed for this project are a lawn mower, smaller pulley, wrenches, a new muffler and new and larger wheels.

STEPS IN BUILDING A RACING LAWN MOWER

Start creating your dream racers by replacing the original pulleys with smaller pulleys. This will improve the speed of the mower. Carefully remove the old engine of the mower and turn it upside down. Separate the vehicle's pulley and dry belt. With the help of a wrench, unscrew the tap and bolt that secure the mower's pulley in position.

Replace the old one with a smaller pulley. Thoroughly check the dry belt to make sure that there are no sign of decay or damages. Replace it if you see any flaws. Attach a new dry belt onto the smaller pulley. Check if the bolts and screws are secure. Check the muffler if it has any rumors or damages. Replace the muffler if you see any flaws since even a little damage will cause your mower to lose speed and may cause you to lose the race.

Carefully detach the governors in your carburetor. Some mowers may possess multiple governors. If your mower has more than one governor, they can be found on the throttle and gas portion of your mower machine. Check the tires to make sure that they have enough air pressure.

You have the option to replace your tires with larger ones or attach ruts to make the vehicle more manageable in mud. You can also keep the originals front tires or replace it with smaller tires instead of larger ones. Remember to check the rules and regulations of the track that you intend racing on. Some racing tracks require racers to keep the mowing deck of their mower.

The mowing deck will help the racer keeps it balance while racing especially during sharp turns. Other racing tracks may permit you to take it off. Decorate your mower according to your tastes. You can also check other mowers to get some tips on how to make your own racer faster. Remember to wear a helmet and eye goggles to protect your head and eyes.
